The color Hazy Day Blue

Picture the sky on a misty summer morning, that off-blue, sort of ashy color that fills the horizon. It's hard to pinpoint if it's a pale baby blue or a light sky grey, but we're convinced that Hazy Day Blue Shorts look epic.
- Designed in The Kingdom of Sweden.

- Swim-ready, flow-through pockets and military-issue hidden drawstring make you ready for any spontaneous swim.
- The Shorts fabric (or any fabric for that matter) is not super-resistant to the chlorine in the swimming pools. The occasional swim is OK as long as you rinse them thoroughly with fresh water afterwards (same as with any swimming gear).
- Stain and dirt repellent. Wash-proof technology makes the fabric water-, oil- and dirt repellent, even rosé wine will come off.
- Two hidden front pockets; one for your phone, the other for cash and cards.
- Perfectly hand-sewn double piped back pockets with lockable zippers.
- Bluesign® certified – A solution for sustainable textile production which eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process.
- Ökotex 100 certified, product class II. Complies with strict human-ecological requirements regarding harmful substances.
- 190 gsm (190 gram per sqm of fabric).
About the garment construction
Siauliai is a small town in the north of Lithuania where men and women sew every stitch with expertise and affection. Our factory was started by Dainius Latvenas when he got fed up with engineering cars for a Soviet automaker. We are super impressed with the team he has built and their attention to quality and detail has earned him our trust, as the trust of other Swedish high society brands. By placing our production here, we benefit from the high-quality textile competence of these tailors and seamstresses and pay them fair union-agreed wages they can live off.
Why does it say YKK on your zipper?
It says so because åäö choose the Japanese company YKK which makes the best zippers in the world (the zipper was originally an American invention which was perfected by two Swedes in the US; Peter A Aronsson and Gideon Sundbäck, making the zipper what it is today). The initials YKK stand for Yoshida Kōgyō Kabushiki-kaisha, which means Yoshida Manufacturing Corporation. The YKK zipper won’t let you down, rest assured!
Can your girlfriend borrow your shorts?
This is a tricky one. Let us put it this way – which would you rather keep? Your girlfriend or your shorts? If you lend her your shorts, she will love you forever, but you won’t get your shorts back. Our recommendation is you safeguard your relationship and buy a second pair of shorts.
How to love your shorts
- Because the shorts are highly repellent they don’t need washing very often. Wash at 40°, using normal detergent, iron or tumble dry 15 min to recreate the full performance of the material.
- Never use softener as it harms the material and does nature no good.
- If the repellent ability seems to have diminished its because dust or something has ended up between the threads. Wash your shorts and they and you will be happy again.
- Many of us love our shorts so much we won’t wear anything else. Even if they do withstand a lot, you can actually love your shorts to death. Let them rest a day or two, now and then (run naked!) It will pro-long their life span and your relationship considerably!
We guarantee everything we make. These shorts are designed and built to be worn for a very long time. They have been with us on countless bike rides, at parties and bars, on travels all around the world and swims in Stockholm.

Two years ago, we had 50 brave test pilots wear the first edition of The Shorts to gather feedback and set the stage. Since that first iteration we have improved on almost every aspect. Designed to be worn everywhere from parks to boardrooms, below are some notable mentions:

We designed The Shorts with a tailored fit so you will look sharp at any garden party or summer mingle. Underneath this polished surface, everything is designed to perform. From fabric to pockets and zippers, you will be prepared for anything that summer might throw at you (including a spontaneous swim)!

Swedish Fabric

Swedish woven performance fabric with a soft canvas feel. The Cordura grade polyamide yarns are extremely tough while retaining a dressed look and feel. In short it's the perfect mix between hidden performance in a sober silhouette.

Dirt and water resistance (even wine will come right off), quick drying and light weight are other useful features that make this a perfect summer fabric. As if this wasn't enough, it is both Bluesign and Ökotex 100 certified which guarantees the highest levels of clean and safe production practices.

Details, details, details...

Everything from the choice of thread up to the final design has been immensely tested and retested. Take the custom etched poly slot buttons from Italy for example. Where regular buttons are stitched by hand these are attached with machine sewn bar tacking instead which makes them incredibly secure.

Swim Ready

Overengineering pockets has become our signature and The Shorts are no exception. Two hidden pockets for phones and wallets, extra deep front pockets and back pockets with hidden zippers creates more space and freedom for you to travel light and organized. To top it off, all pockets are flowthrough so you can swim in them.
